In Episode 9 of Trigun
Vash, Meryl, and Milly ride a bus through the desert to May City. Vash sees a glimmer in the distance, which turns out to be a priest named Nicholas D. Wolfwood. After picking up the priest, the bus is attacked by some mechanical spiders. Vash and Nicholas go off to fight the mechanical menace, and Vash learns that Wolfwood is more than a humble man of the cloth.
